Llyr & Kate Fleur Young come together as 'Ghostbirds' from two distinct disciplines (voice as instrument, studio as instrument) for Forest Lung, their first collaborative release, built from vocal worlds and field recordings in the rainforests of Brazil and Ecuador and developed jointly into a shared sonic language. Kate Fleur Young is an artist and vocalist whose work explores the relationship between voice, landscape and altered states of listening. She has performed at the Barbican and Alexandra Palace, and been championed by Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 6. Llyr is a producer and composer whose work sits between environmental and synthetic sound, and between textural ambience and dancefloor intensity. A key artist on Max Cooper's Mesh, his debut album Biome was built entirely from his own field recordings of the Borneo rainforest. Forest Lung marks a return to that territory in a new, collaborative form.
