Hannah Laing

Scottish DJ and producer Hannah Laing plays a bouncy, ecstatic blend of techno, trance, and hard house. Though her earliest singles were midtempo tech-house tracks, she gained more attention when she began making faster, harder material. Her 2019 bootleg remix of Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Murder on the Dancefloor" went viral, and an official remake was released two years later. She then hit the Top Ten of the U.K. singles chart with 2023's "Good Love" (featuring RoRo), which was certified platinum. Her cover of Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time" also charted, and she released the EP Into the Doof in 2024, through her own Doof label. She launched her annual Doof in the Park festival in 2025, and began her first Ibiza residency. She's collaborated with artists such as Marlon Hoffstadt and Hannah Boleyn, and she released "U Got 2 Know" with Armin van Buuren and Wippenberg in 2026. Hannah Laing was born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1994. Both of her parents were ravers, so she was always listening to house and trance, and she started going to clubs when she was 15. She played her first DJ gig at the age of 18, and released her first single, "Coco," in 2014, followed by "My House" and "Space" in 2015. She continued to work as a dental nurse while developing her career as a DJ and producer on the side. She made a bootleg remix of Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Murder on the Dancefloor" in 2019, and the track made waves, eventually leading to an official version issued by Spinnin' Deep in 2021. Continuing to channel hard house and techno, she released further singles like "The Records," "Climax," and "Don't Wanna Go" (with Stephen Kirkwood), while becoming a more frequent presence on major stages at festivals. She decided to pursue music full-time after a well-received appearance at the Creamfields festival in 2022. After releasing "Be the One" and "Get Busy" in 2023, she struck chart gold with "Good Love" (featuring RoRo), which hit the Top Ten in the U.K. and went platinum. She also released a remix of Tony de Vit's "Bring the Beat Back," commemorating the 25th anniversary of the death of the hard house pioneer. "Party All the Time" (with HVRR), a remake of the Eddie Murphy hit, became Laing's second charting single. In 2024, Laing launched her label Doof (named after an Australian term for an outdoor rave, typically held in a remote country area or forest). Its first release was her track "FWTDJ (All Night Long)," which then appeared on the EP Triple F, along with a remake of Peaches' "Fuck the Pain Away." Her EP Into the Doof was a reflection of her favorite styles of dance music. Other tracks like "Bass Boys" and "4am in a Rave" (with rhys from the sticks) appeared in 2025, along with the EP Into the Bounce. Laing held the first Doof in the Park festival in July, featuring veteran DJs such as Armin van Buuren and Judge Jules as headliners, and it continued as an annual event. She also began a residency at Hï Ibiza. "Have You Ever Loved (Ellie)," a collaboration with Hannah Boleyn, was released in dedication to Laing's best friend, who had died earlier in the year. In 2026, she issued collaborations with Maddix, Olly James, Marlon Hoffstadt, and Evil Twin, additionally teaming up with Armin van Buuren and Wippenberg for the track "U Got 2 Know." ~ Paul Simpson
