Hugo Piper

As a performing and recording artist Hugo works regularly in a variety of contexts, spanning a range of playing styles, across the globe, frequently discovering new interpretations of the bass guitar in all its forms. He grew up through a mixture of musical circumstances - his local big band, church and school - taking inspiration from a wide gamut of music, from jazz and rock, to folk and choral music. Auditioning in 2016, Hugo received a scholarship to study Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, graduating in 2020. He now works globally with artists such as Rex Orange County, Anatole Muster, Sarah Julia, Mackwood, SAHRA, Quinn Oulton, Raquel Martins, Nectar Woode, Eliza Oakes, Roman Lewis, Emma Rawicz, Marie Dahlstrom, Conor Albert in touring, producing and writing contexts. Hugo is also a co-founder of Your Blind Passenger, a live-electronic and acoustic crossover trio, with a deep focus on improvisation, alongside Christos Stylianides and Jack Robson. His work can additionally be found as a graphic designer and motion artist, having worked with artists such as Samara Joy, Wayne Snow, and Will Vinson.
