HumDrum are a Bristol based 5-piece crafting an evolving fusion of neo-jazz, experimental rock, and poetic surrealism. Their music defies easy categorization — vulnerability and volatility, polished chaos and deliberate imperfection. Their debut single release ‘Collision’ which was self-recorded at dBs studios and mastered by Kris Burton went on to be broadcast on BBC introducing. Off the back of their successful live performances, namely their supporting slot for Eades at Rough Trade and their recent sold out headline show at The Lanes, they prepare to release their forthcoming EP recorded at Distillery 2 Studios. HumDrum continue to forge their own space in the UK’s rich musical landscape — a project defined not by genre, but by feeling. HumDrum’s new material marks a bolder step into textured experimentation. Taking inspiration from the likes of Bjork, Portishead, Duster, Stereolab and Youth Lagoon, the band will be showcasing their upcoming untitled five-track EP. Their dreamy delicate harmonies that collide with distorted crescendos and introspective lyrics channel through warped electronics. At its heart, HumDrum is about emotional honesty and the beauty of imbalance. Their music explores the contradictions of being human — fragile yet defiant, surreal yet grounded. Each performance unfolds like a living sculpture, evolving in real time as the band deconstructs and rebuilds its own sound.
