I Am An Instrument

I Am An Instrument plays 100 % improvised music, giving something different and special every time they perform and in turn share that moment with the audience. The bands consists of Steven Jess Borth II aka CHLLNGR on synth, tenor sax and guitar, Stunn Gunn on the drums, Eliel Lazo on percussion, Jonathan Bremer on electric bass and stand up bass, Johannes Wamberg on guitar and Morten McCoy on piano, Wurlitzer and Synth. So far the band has released Vol.1, 2 and 3 and most recently “Receive”on the imprint ÅND&, co curated and run by CHLLNGR and Walshy Fire. Gilles Peterson has given the band support by premiering the 12 minute long track “part 1” on his BBC6 Music radio show. He has also given plays to the on worldwide FM. They have had hundreds of plays on Danish National Radio station Jazz P8 and have also gotten support from Joe Kay on his Soulection Radio Show. For every release there is a corresponding film that accompanies it. Documentary filmmaker Andreas Johnson (Rosforth Films) documents each concert using VHS format to give the look a complimintary feel with the rawness of the performance.
