Ilias Palioudakis

Ilias Palioudakis was born into a musical family his father, a chanter and expert in Byzantine music, and his mother, a constant source of support. From the age of six, he showed a natural gift for music and began singing. At seven, he studied lyra and music at the Rethymno Conservatory under Kostas Mountakis, later influenced by violinist Manolis Tzinevrakis. His sound blends Cretan and Byzantine roots with folk and laïko elements. By 11, he performed professionally for the first time, and at 14 he entered the recording scene with original compositions. He has since collaborated with icons like Nikos Manias, Manolis Kaklis, Tolis Voskopoulos, Pitsa Papadopoulou, Vasilis Skoulas, and Michalis Tzouganakis. A turning point came in 2005 when he lent his voice to Alexis Georgoulis for the hit series “Erastris Dytikon Proastion”, marking the start of a long partnership with Nikos Terzis, with whom he created the milestone song “Kori Enos Theou” (2013). Through his participation in the TV series “Sasmos”, performing songs like “Matomeno Doxari” and “Pos Na Sopaso Ton Kaimo”, he reached new audiences. With decades of experience, Ilias Palioudakis stands among Greece’s most expressive voices—an artist who honors his roots while evolving continuously.
