James Massiah
A homegrown rap artist.
James Massiah is a poet & DJ from South London whose work explores ideas about sexuality, mortality & ethics through performance, writing & visual media. A much celebrated creative in underground circles, embedded in the NTS community he has built a name for himself as one of London’s most sought after DJs. As a poet and performing artist he has produced works that reflect on stoicism, materialism, hedonism & excess and regularly hosts his own series of nights "Adult Entertainment". His self produced debut "Natural Born Killers (Ride for Me)" released in 2019, was an anthemic success, proving his ability as a producer as well as wordsmith. He has gone on to collaborate with some of electronic music's most exciting and influential names like Dean Blunt, Joy Orbison, Massive Attack, Daniel Avery and Richard Russell’s Everything Is Recorded. Support reaches wider still, from John Cooper Clarke to Neneh Cherry (who James supported at Glastonbury Festival) and at radio through tastemakers such as Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs and Jamz Supernova. His latest EP "True Romance" signifies a new level to James’ journey as a musician and as an artist. Bringing into one his love for songwriting, rap, dancehall, grime, acid, dub and of course poetry, he offers six soaring tracks that encapsulate the dark yet electrifying energy of London’s nightlife whilst documenting the highs and lows of his love story. In this next EP, Massiah promises to deliver his richest work to date
