JB Dunckel
Sounds move like memories, music builds itself upon souvenirs. And the most beautiful tracks are those that navigate between memories and the present, lost time and the moment that arises, the memory of light and the dazzle of the sun. Pieces are heard forming, coalescing, galaxies in the making. At their heart, an electronic spirit, anchored to a very mineral rhythm. There are glimpses and echoes of the great German musicians of the 70s, with their infallible metronome (listen to Ghost Town). There are also ghosts of Detroit's hypnotic machines (get lost in Spark). Above all, this album moves forward as if it were running slowly, its rhythms giving a cadence that calms and radiates, in sparkling harmony. Furthermore, sonic crystallizations emerge, seeming to spread out from an early morning, a weightless awakening, while the brain is still dreaming of a lost paradise (let yourself be lulled by Atlantica, then Tanzanite). The record concludes with Autumnal Equinox, and as I write these lines, time passes from one season to the next, the luminosity changes, the atmosphere is slowed down, there are glimpses of light through the fabric of reality. Where, in life, past or future, are we now ? A figure appears in the middle of the music, a featureless face. It is all up to you to imagine its secret identity. These mirages, second chapter of that name, are at their zenith
