Joy Heart

Joy Heart from Rotterdam, the Netherlands is a female DJ and producer. She was just a little girl when she first came into contact with the DJ decks because her dad is a DJ and used to be the resident of the infamous “Hollywood Music Hall, Rotterdam”. Seeing him entertain thousands of people with his music she knew that’s what she wanted to do when she grew up. Giving people a break from their daily struggles and make them completely forget about the world around them… even if it was just for a few hours, that sounded like the perfect profession to Joy. Growing up surrounded by the world of nightlife her music taste really goes all round. When Joy is behind the decks she can pretty much play whatever the crowd wants to hear! She truly believes that knowing what a crowd wants is just as important as being a good DJ on a technical level. But just because she knows what people want during her sets doesn’t always mean she’s willing to give it to them straight away, she likes to keep them on their toes and constantly asking for more. Joy thinks that what makes a good DJ is a combination of track selection, energy, technicality and simply bringing fire to the stage wherever in the world that may be. “People love to be taken on a journey, whether it’s on a festival with thousands of others or in some underground basement club surrounded by only 200.”
