Katy J Pearson’s music is the sound of the summer we should always be having, as opposed to the one we’re usually gifted. Effortlessly evocative of long evenings cooled by a welcome breeze, of soft sand between the toes and the sweetest sounds on the FM dial, foot down and accelerating to the West Coast (of Great Britain), her songs are immediately transportive, possessing an uncanny ability to lift the listener out of the every day and into a sunshine state. Barely a second of the new album 'Someday, Now' passes without a memorable hook, a brief, blinking, double-take allusion to Kate Bush, Carole King or Arthur Russell” - ★★★★ - Mojo
