Singer, songwriter, and recording artist Kay Cook started writing when she was young. Like so many performers of single-digit age using the mirror as her audience, she channeled the mighty vibes of, well, Hannah Montana. And like its star, has gone on to become a powerful recording artist, finding her voice in honest lyrics with catchy hooks underpinned by a rich pop palette. “It’s always fulfilling to see the response to a song, how it can touch people.” Kay has been writing since the age of 11 and prides herself in writing about her personal experiences. In her recent release “Faking It” Kay speaks up about her struggles with anxiety, self identity and heartbreak. “Music has always been my creative outlet, I can get out exactly how I feel. Whether that be in my best moments or my worst.” Through the years Kay was moved to write and record the fan favorite “1952,” and "Upgrade," which has surpassed 1.4 million Spotify streams. After the love and support she received from her singles, "Words I Wish I Said" and “Faking it", she is eager to be working on new music to share with her audience. “Each one of my songs represents a different chapter of my life or an experience I have gone through. When people can relate to my music it’s a special feeling, it makes me feel less alone.” She hopes her new music can connect with her listeners the way some of her favorite songs have resonated with her.
