Kaya Byinshii

A Rwandese recording and touring singer, songwriter; and actress. Through her music and unique style; a fusion of blues, folk, traditional roots, and modern jazz, she manifests deep spiritual connection of love, freedom, and resilience. Her recent single “The Life of Champions” follows “Folie Douce,” both defining her unique versatility and poetic finesse. Her notable works include but not limited to music composition for multiple documentaries for a French producer, Marie France Briere, the Opening Festival Musique Metisses 2024, Africa Tour (2023) in Algiers, Oran, Annaba, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Kampala, etc, Prix Decouvertes RFI Finalist 2021 and 2023. As an actress and music composer, she features in the theater adaptation of "Petit Pays" a book written by Gael Faye.
