KinKai, of Sierra Leonean and Jamaican descent, is a Black British artist known for his smooth delivery, soul-infused hip-hop, and a witty Mancunian pen. His sound was shaped early by reggae at family functions and West African rhythms playing from his mother’s Kenwood Hi-Fi—soundtracked by the likes of Garnett Silk, Bunny Mack, and Beres Hammond. Discovering hip-hop through MTV Base and Channel U sparked a hunger to create, leading him to write his own music and record on a hand-built computer using Cubase 8. Fusing heartfelt stanzas over slick production, the Manchester wordsmith’s storytelling has led to collaborations with ENNY, Children of Zeus, and IAMDDB. Now, KinKai is officially taking his sound far beyond UK shores. @kinkaimcr ✌🏾🫧
