An underground soul artist.
Lean Robbemont (30-05-1986, NL) – Drummer & Storydrummer Lean is a drummer at heart and soul. With his drums, he tells stories: rhythmic, raw, honest. Always from the heart. His journey toward Storydrumming began at the North Jazz Festival, welcoming visitors daily with a drum story. Years later, he performed a 15–20 minute drum story live, worldwide streamed from the North Sea Jazz Festival for Yamaha Drums. That’s when Storydrumming truly took shape. After heart problems, with irregular rhythm disorders (ironically, for a drummer), he realized that even a drummer has a story to tell. And it speaks strongest from the heart. His first official Storydrumming release: First Story, on his 36th birthday. A year later, his debut as a singer-songwriter: Slow Down (And Have Faith), written with Alain Clark and Sanne Monster (also 2nd vocal). An intimate moment in his journey: Breathe. Trust. Find the light. Drumming had always been the only way he could move freely and pain-free, due to a congenital hip condition. After his hip surgery and leg lengthening in 2025, Lean finally stands with both feet on the ground, ready to let his energy and music flow freely. His music always carries this rhythmic, storytelling heart. For Lean, drums are not accompaniment, but a storytelling heart that speaks. “Only together we can create a beautiful world, starting by yourself.” http://www.leanrobbemont.nl
