LifeLoan is an Amsterdam based alternative electro-pop project led by Tatiana Smirnova. Full of contrasts, LifeLoan's music finds itself on edge between lyrical singer-songwriter piano ballads and intricately produced dark electro pop numbers inspired by artists like James Blake and Imogen Heap. After moving away from her home country as a child, Tatiana, despite being an outsider to the new communities she entered, always felt like she could be understood through music. That’s what LifeLoan is for her - a way to give voice to what’s been lost in translation, to save the memory of fleeting feelings and thoughts in something that matters. In its first year alone, LifeLoan has already played in established Dutch venues such as Skatecafé, Paradiso and Melkweg, got selected for showcase opportunities such as Amsterdamse Popprijs and Mooie Noten, and released their debut self-titled EP.
