A homegrown, underground indie pop artist.
UK based artist Lucy Wroe is a songwriter who enjoys dipping in and out of genres. She sits somewhere on the smoky edge of pop and folk, with a hand in the soft electronic pool… Raised in Winchester in the south of England, she moved to London in 2018. Lucy loves the early years of 2000s pop, classic soul/RnB, has an (unhealthy) obsession with Q-Tip, and reaches beyond into the soft realm of Joni-folk. These influences are wrapped up into something entirely new and Wroe-like. Since 2024, Lucy has been drawing particular inspiration from Radiohead, Kate Bush, Caroline Polachek and Bon Iver. Lush indie ballad, “Heartbeat Wipers”, marked a new era in 2024. Followed by “The Vault” , which enters the powerful world of left-field pop. Lucy features on the 2022 single ‘Lavender Water’ by Tom b, acclaimed by Fresh on The Net as “A mesmerising sound collage that absolutely nails its namesake”. You can also hear their collaborative talent in ‘She’s Like A Dream’ and ‘Cold Water’ - a single released exclusively on Bandcamp with all profits going to the PCRF. The pair have consistently created unique vignettes into Lucy’s life as a writer and performer through DIY music videos. Lucy Wroe has earned critical praise from publications like CLOUT, Mezmerised and PowHer Sound. Her work has been championed by BBC Introducing and Fresh on The Net. “A paragon of authenticity in London’s indie music scene.”
