MAD VELVET (formerly known as Fialový Samet) is the creative playground of Maxmilian Hruska, an artist from Prague, Czech Republic. Here, he blends his dreams, poeticism, and the relaxed, colourful atmosphere of the 60s and 70s with neo-psychedelic , alternative, dream-pop rock. The music sparkles with the surreal-dada decadence of Syd Barrett, the sarcastically playful nostalgia of MGMT, and bold creativity of David Bowie and Kevin Ayers. Many songs originate from ideas Maxmilian didn’t use in Madhouse Express, a band he co-founded and leads as frontman. With MAD VELVET, he explores a more personal and experimental side, offering listeners a unique sonic experience filled with vibrant melodies, dreamy soundscapes, and eclectic rhythms.
