When Berlin native Marcio Kantana acquired his first techno records at Hardwax in 1990, there was a sense of magic in the air. By the age of 15, Marcio’s talent was developing at lightning speed. Although it was difficult for a teenager to secure DJ slots in clubs, he persisted. By the age of 18, he was already organizing his own events at a small club in Berlin-Lichtenberg, providing a platform for artists like Paul Kalkbrenner, Sascha Funke, Aphyx, and DJ Bart to play their first sets. Marcio Kantana soon found himself increasingly booked at some of the city’s most prominent clubs, including Tresor, Magdalena, Osthafen, U60311, Matrix, BBC, Trauma, Depot, Sage, and Wahlfisch. In the 2000s, he established a small, entirely analog-based studio. Marcio began producing his own records and has been performing live on stage ever since. Outgoing, energetic, and a touch eccentric—these traits led him to launch his second label, "Modulat," through which he shared his unique perspective on the techno and tech-house scene. Today, Marcio Kantana is a sought-after live act and a top-tier DJ. He frequently performs at major venues and events, such as Ostfunk at Magdalena, Batofar in France, Pioneer Alpha, and Tresor, and is also in high demand for large-scale open-air festivals. In 2009, Marcio Kantana founded the label "Aspekt Records." He currently spends much of his time in the studio, crafting new singles and working on various remix projects. Next level: 2026.
