meiotempo

meiotempo is a London-based Brazilian post-punk trio built by Caio Orio, Thiago Costa Behrndt, and Vitor Meuren. Their debut EP, número A, came out earlier this year and just — tight, no filler, a sprawling first outing. The trio began to explore dynamics, noise and silence, each finding space as if learning to converse in a new language — sometimes stumbling over words, sometimes discovering entire phrases without knowing exactly how they got there. Gradually, their sessions and gigs also became a kind of escape valve from the daily routine—often tiring and repetitive, like that of the vast majority of us. Sonically, the band works a post-punk, Brazilian, emo and shoegaze seam — the mix suggests a push-pull between tension, release and groove.
