If you have ever doubted yourself, my songs are for you! At just 18 years old, Mia is a musician and story teller emerging from the London Music Scene. Born in SE London, Mia's life has been surrounded by rich and diverse culture, with musical influences from across the globe. With no extended family living in London, Mia remembers as a young child, taking long trips by car to visit relatives, and listening to 90's music on the journeys; Faith Evans, Michael Jackson, Mary J Blige, Sade, Maxwell and Aaliyah. Today these musical influences still remain. A self confessed melomaniac, she is irresistibly drawn to music. Where music has become her very breath of existence. From an early age Mia has written and recorded music on an iPad in her bedroom. Citing Steve Lacy as her inspiration as a fellow 'bedroom musician' Age 8 Mia was told by the music teacher at school, in front of the class, that she couldn't sing. Remembering the experience, and how devastated she felt on that day, has made her even more determined to pursue music. This has set her on a path, writing lyrics about resilience and determination, and giving a voice to those who feel they are not enough. 'Stories Matter' is a mantra for her writing. Each song tells a story about attaining dreams, not listening to negativity and finding your people. Songs that evoke feelings of bravery. In a world of divides, Mia is bringing people together through music, to create a community who truly believes anything is possible.
