Ministry Of Funk is the deep house, disco, afro funk and soul project of Marcelo Castelli .The project's DNA goes back to 1985s, when funk, disco and soul shaped his understanding of groove and musical craft. Those influences remain at the centre of every Ministry Of Funk release — built around Rhodes as a lead voice, deep grooved basslines, minimal trumpet, restrained guitar phrasing in the Knopfler tradition, and a strict commitment to keeping the groove alive. Over more than twenty years of continuous work, the project has grown into a catalogue of 190 tracks released through Ministry's own imprint South American Grooves, distributed worldwide via Ingrooves. The music finds its natural home in lounges, hotels, beach clubs and quiet listening hours — designed to hold attention without ever demanding it. Ministry produces from his studio near the Atlantic coast of Uruguay. The proximity to the sea, and the slower pace of life on that coast, run through everything he makes. There is a person behind every track, with decades of records, dancefloors and listening experience informing each choice.
