Miss Kaninna

Miss Kaninna is a First Nations artist reshaping contemporary music with a sound that moves between Hip Hop, R&B, rock and soul. Making waves with her breakout debut single Blak Britney, the rapper/singer has been on a meteoric rise, emerging as a potent voice of punk and power in so-called Australia. A critical and cultural breakthrough, Blak Britney became a powerful anthem that hit #1 on triple j, featured in Netflix’s Heartbreak High, and earned three ARIA nominations, including Best Independent Release. She made history as the first independent Aboriginal woman to be nominated for an ARIA for a debut single. Her EP, KANINNA, arrived to critical acclaim with sold out shows across the country. The record went on to win Best Independent Hip-Hip EP/Album at the 2025 AIR Australian Independent Music Awards where she also took home the award for Breakthrough Independent Artist of The Year. Renowned for her electric live shows, Miss Kaninna has supported national tours with Amyl and The Sniffers and KNEECAP and performed alongside Stormzy, Steve Lacy and Raye on the 2024 Laneway Festival tour. She was named triple j Unearthed Artist of the Year and took home the inaugural Justin Cosby Award for Best Emerging Artist at SXSW Sydney.
