Mo Van Zandt

"TÆR, Radiothriller" now on air Maverick multi-instrumentalist & vocalist Mo Van Zandt blurs the lines between science-fiction and our fast changing reality. Inspired by turn of millennium icons Thom Yorke , Björk, and Burial, she weaves broken rhythms and ethereal vocals into the soundtrack of a semi-fictional, apocalyptic world. In her debut album "TÆR, Radiothriller" stories of splintering reality, forbidden queer love, supernatural weather & dance floor escapism play out to dub soaked electronics and foley. At its core, pop holding a black mirror to the dizzying speed of change in our time. The album, co-produced with friend and IDM producer Eric Baldwin (Cocktail Party Effect) premiered at OHM, Berlin amongst their noir club hit "So Disco". Van Zandt grew up in Texas where her musical experience ranged from classical piano to psyche drumming in Austin. She moved to Brooklyn in 2016 where she engaged with jazz, funk, and post-rock projects until the pandemic hit. In isolation, Van Zandt turned to electronic songwriting, distorting drum recordings and soulful vocals into songs at the intersection of annihilation and beauty. Punk drives her writing & performances, transforming DIY venues & parties into immersive, cyber-noir spectacles; her partner’s visuals dancing on the walls behind her. Drawn by the dance culture of Berlin, she moved in 2020 to record her solo project. She is a cofounder of ORA collective for electronic producers & vocalists.
