Modern Oli

An indie-pop deep dive into the identity crisis of being human in 2026. Modern Oli is the artist project from British actor Oli Higginson, the rising star known for his recurring role on Netflix's hit show Bridgerton and television appearances across HBO, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Sky Atlantic, and the BBC. After opening for Skinny Living at Dingwalls, and selling out his debut headline show, Modern Oli is ready to take 2026 by storm. Teetering between satire & sincerity, Oli's first single 'One of Those Faces' is out on January 23. The song is a witty reflection on fame, identity, relationships, & belonging, citing The 1975, Pulp, Bleachers, and Bowie as major influences. Written on New Year’s Eve 2024 and releasing almost exactly a year later, the song was born during an intense one-day session at British Grove Studios in February 2025, where Oli worked alongside his full band, producer Louis Souyave, engineer Felipé Gutierrez, and collaborators including Alyssa Bonagura and cellist Geraint Downing. This organic foundation led to months of experimentation in home studios, layering in samples, reversed textures, electronic elements, and field recordings from Peckham streets and London overground trains. The track features the spoken voice of American actress Meaghan Martin, drawing listeners deeper into the cinematic world of the song.
