Morwan

Morwan is a post-punk band formed in 2019 in Kyiv, Ukraine by Kyiv-based musician Alex Ashtaui. It was originally a one-man band, but transformed into a band in 2023 and is now based in Berlin. Morwan's music is primarily dynamic and dark post-punk, often with elements of folk and ethno music. At the core of their music is always formidable drumming with rhythmic bass. Deep atmospheric synthesizers, cyclic guitar parts and piercing elements of folk instruments. All these elements are extremely rhythmic, but woven together to create a sense of chaotic primitive dance. Morwan has crafted a musical fusion that bridges the gap between ancient traditions and contemporary darkness, a testament to the enduring power of creativity and the boundless depths of human expression. The band has released 3 full-length albums, on labels such as Feel It Records, Detriti Records, Reclusion Records, Death Shadow. At the moment Morwan continues to work with Feel It Records, which is based in Cincinnati, USA.
