Obijuan also known as ‘DA LOCAL OBEAH MAN’ is a solo Bahamian Hip-Hop Artist & half of the cloak-and-dagger duo languid.oceans. Obi was born in Nassau, The Bahamas. Being raised in between the city & the family islands, Obi has been immersed in West Indian & American culture since birth; Hip-Hop & music in general has been a consistently prominent influence throughout Obi's entire life. Over a decade of writing & recording plus a plethora of mixtapes over the years led to Obi's music generating a significant buzz in 2017, following his first vinyl release. After constant releases & a series of tours spread across Europe, Obi stirred up a wave with his raw, off-kilter sound. Obi’s 2019 collaboration with Bad Taste Records made his first official mark on the underground. After many critically acclaimed releases and collaborations with Underground heavyweights such as the legendary DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill , one of Griselda’s founding producer’s @Camoflauge Monk , @August Fanon, @Nicholas Craven and more alongside a successful tour in Japan in 2025 with PublicHousingNYC; Obi has since come to be regarded as one of the pillars of modern Hip-Hop’s current foundation with his new & improved gritty, relentless, rapid fire rap style. He continues to steadily release a range of different EP's and LP's independently via his Third World INC™ imprint, selling over 3,000 vinyl records and counting.
