An underground, raw folk artist.
The music of OD Jones’ first album has been described as ‘nightmare folk.’ It’s gloom and innocence is all-encompassing, evoking comparisons to Ivor Cutler’s storytelling, Richard Thompson’s British folk, and Bobbie Gentry’s gothic country. There are dead bodies on the road, executions, desperation and dawn of childhood. What results has the potential to be soft or harsh, subdued or exuberant. There is usually some kind of tale there.
