An underground americana artist.
Oli McCracken is a British-American singer-songwriter whose music has always lived somewhere between places. Born in the UK and raised in Chicago and Denver, McCracken spent almost a decade in Colorado’s music scene before moving to England in 2023. Now based in London, he continues to build on his Americana roots, with folk, soul, rock and R&B broadening a sound developed over the past decade. Since releasing From Scratch in 2016, McCracken has built a catalogue of EPs, albums and singles, with 2025’s Old Man’s Gun becoming his most-streamed song to date. His forthcoming album, recorded in Camden with producer Jack Trouble, pushes that evolution further. His Americana roots remain at its core, while Trouble’s pop and R&B background brings new textures. Sparse, vocal-led arrangements sit alongside rock-forward material and deep, soulful grooves. Written during a period of profound transition, the songs explore grief in its many forms - the loss of people, relationships, places and versions of a life that no longer exist. McCracken leaves space for listeners to find their own meaning in the songs. Since moving to the UK, Oli has been performing solo with an acoustic guitar, stripping away the safety of a full band and putting the songs, stories and voice at the centre of the room. The result is a show that can swing from disarmingly funny to deeply affecting. With a new album on the way, McCracken looks ahead to the next stage of a career that has never stopped evolving.
