A nostalgic, underground singer-songwriter artist.
Paco Ibáñez is a prominent Spanish singer and musician who emerged as a defining voice of cultural resistance during the Franco dictatorship. Armed with only an acoustic guitar and a stark, powerful vocal delivery, he avoids writing his own lyrics in favor of interpreting the works of celebrated poets like Federico García Lorca and Miguel Hernández. His timeless catalog remains a cornerstone of nueva canción española and political folk music.
