Peter Gall

*** Winner of the German Jazz Prize in the "ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2025" category for > LOVE AVATAR < *** Berlin based drummer, composer and producer Peter Gall is one of the most renowned German jazz drummers of his generation. He studied jazz drums in Berlin and New York and has performed on stage with numerous luminaries and renowned groups on the international scene such as WEB WEB, the Kurt Rosenwinkel Trio, The New York Voices, Take 6, the NDR Big Band, Max Herre, Joy Denalane, Nils Landgren, Dieter Ilg, Majid Bekkas, Roberto Di Gioia, Jeff Taylor, Gabriel Rios or Thomas Quasthoff. Peter Gall can be heard on over 40 albums, is a sought-after studio musician in various musical genres from jazz to pop to indie (i.g. recently with Lord Huron's Ben Schneider) and also teaches as a professor of jazz drums at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts. His first album “Paradox Dreambox”, released in 2018, got critically acclaimed and enthusiastic reviews. In 2021 he won the prestigious BMW Welt Jazz Award with the “Peter Gall Quintett”. The new award winning album LOVE AVATAR is Gall's most elaborate and intense work to date, featuring a dreamlike line-up of top musicians of the european scene.
