Really Good Time

Compared to a mutant blend of early QOTSA and The Walkmen on Lamacq’s Roundtable, Really Good Time are a power trio from Dublin who sound like they’re wired to explode. They are; Wastefellow (vocals and guitar), Ado Tornado (drums) and Jacque le Coque (bass). From their earliest (semi-legal) shows on sheep farms and in squats to commanding 7,000-person stages at Irish festivals, Really Good Time have proven themselves as a force that's impossible to ignore since bursting onto the Dublin scene in 2021. Whether supporting acts like Franz Ferdinand, The Scratch, Gurriers and The Murder Capital, or causing queues around the block at The Great Escape. Their mission remains the same: shock, awe, and the collective joy that can only be found amidst noise and other people's sweat. After a sold-out headline show at Dublin’s iconic Whelan’s and a whirlwind of gigs at SXSW in March 2025, the band said farewell to founding guitarist The Dúke, and re-emerged as a power trio, rebuilt from the ground up with a new set of songs distilling everything they do best into a leaner, louder scuzz-punk meltdown. They debuted their new sound at the Iggy Pop-curated "In the Meadows" in June, electrifying a packed to bursting 1,000 cap tent. “You told me it would just get better…” opens their new single "Shit One". Yet Really Good Time don’t sound convinced. The trio channel that disbelief into an angular post-punk groover built for a dance floor that’s covered in rubbish and probably on fire.
