We are a group of female musicians with diverse musical backgrounds who came together to realize a musical experiment based on improvisation. In August 2021, we set off for the Uckermark in East Germany, loaded with all the equipment we own, all kinds of instruments and sound bodies, technology, poems, with incense and (of course only legal) entheogenic substances, and the crystal-clear desire to find out how deep we can dive when nobody disturbs us. The answer is: very deep! We spent two weeks on the musical ocean floor. Twelve days of seclusion in the Uckermark, during which no one was allowed to disturb us. No cell phone, no friends, no paddlingsplashing in the lake, no obligations, no cooking dinner, no washing up, no partners, no kids, no compromises. Just eight to ten hours of playing a day. Only devotion to music. Deeper and deeper, further and further, reaching to trance-like states with bloody blisters and deep grooves on our fingers, shaped by sitar strings.
