Saint Sulpice

Saint Sulpice is a guitar-centric indie rock band from New York, pairing melodic hooks and layered harmonies with an enduring affection for loud guitars and carefully crafted lyrics. The project began in late 2024 when cousins Will Loftus and Josh Arbo started making music together again more than a decade after first writing together as teenagers. What began as a handful of songs intended as a birthday present for Loftus’s father, whose birthday falls on the Ides of March, quickly became something neither of them had planned. Saint Sulpice’s debut EP, The Ides of March, was released on March 15, 2025. Childhood friend Ben Durland initially joined as Saint Sulpice’s studio drummer, playing on the early recordings before becoming a full-time member on drums and vocals. Tim McClung completed the four-piece on bass in 2026. Saint Sulpice now consists of Loftus (guitar/vocals), Arbo (guitar/vocals), Durland (drums/vocals), and McClung (bass). The group approaches each song as something to be built and rebuilt until it feels right. Songs are written, recorded, pulled apart, rearranged, and obsessed over, with intertwining guitars, complex vocal harmonies, and small details tucked into the recordings that reward repeated listens. Saint Sulpice has grown into something distinctly its own — a New York indie rock band more interested in making songs worth coming back to than chasing whatever comes next.
