Serkus

Growing up in Essex in the 90's Serkus' was exposed to the sounds of underground rave culture from early - whether it was a 1994 jungle tape pack rinsing out from a Vauxhall Nova parked beside his house where everyone used to hang out on the estate, or in the back of his mums Volvo on the A12 listening to pirate radio whilst dropping his older sister off to a garage dance somewhere in Chelmsford in the early 2000's (Renegade FM big up). From the age of around 9 or 10 he had already acquired his first tape pack, it had 'Kenny Ken ' on one side and 'DJ Hype' on the other written in marker (shouts to Dave Cooper for giving me that) Securing his first set of turntables for his 16th birthday (a horrible pair of Gemini's where one of the motors would randomly speed up), and with no actual plan or vision of becoming a 'DJ' but just wanting to own and play records. Fast forward a few years and Serkus is fully immersed in the underground music scene, regularly attending raves, free parties, squat parties and spending most of his spare time buying or mixing music. He began to play jungle for sound systems such as Odyssey (Shout out Fraze & Tom), who have since become family. Serkus was a resident on award winning Rough Tempo Radio for almost a decade and has brought his good vibes well beyond the UK and throughout Europe, whilst being resident for Blind Tiger stage at Glastonbury Festival (shout out Momo & the gang).
