Sylwester Ostrowski – from Szczecin City, Poland, Sylwester builds cultural connections globally with jazz. To date, he has three albums; the latest being In Our Own Way, where he takes on cultural exchange, bringing a fusion of American and Polish jazz, the classical music of Frederic Chopin and traditional music of Poland, he pays tribute to the legacy of David Brubeck’s Quartet trip to Poland, behind the Iron Curtain, in 1958. Sylwester Ostrowski is a rare case in the Polish artistic world. He successfully combines the role of music - jazz saxophonist with culture animation, including the creation of the Szczecin Jazz Festival. He has recorded with American jazz vocalist Deborah Brown and toured alongside genres like Bobby Watson and Keyon Harrold. The hospitality that Sylwester provides to artists, partners, and guests when visiting Szczecin is legendary, and most recently his collaborations have been with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center, Deborah Brown, Piotr Wojtasik, Yakov Okun, Bobby Watson, Anders Bergcrantz, Freddie Hendrix and the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra. Internationally, Sylwester has performed at numerous international jazz world music festivals as well as in jazz renowned jazz clubs globally, such as the Jazz Sister Cities Inaugural Concert in Kansas City, MO USA; Jazz on the Dnieper in Dnipro, Ukraine; Yamaha Ginza Hall in Tokyo, Japan, Safaricom International Jazz Festival in Nairobi, Kenya and the Blue Note in New York, USA.
