The Cooltrane Quartet
This fearless foursome joined forces in 2004 when they were invited to back Karen Souza on the first Jazz And 80s album. Children of the ´80s who had been trained on classical instruments, they jumped at the chance to transform the music of their childhood into jazz standards and we are so glad that they did. Their most memorable work might be playing with Karen Souza on her unforgettable version of Radiohead´s Creep. The Cooltrane Quartet" is a jazz-fusion group which combines elements of traditional jazz with electronic rhythms and experimental sounds, creating a unique and thrilling blend. Another favorite vocalist is Dinah York with whom they recorded a spectacular version of the Amy Winehouse classic, Back to Black. They describe themselves as mellow and it is clear that they work and play almost intuitively as a unit. The Cooltrane Quartet is destined to keep spinning pop hits into silky jazz numbers we are sure to recognize.
