The Cushings
An underground, nostalgic glam rock act.
Tracks2
The Cushings are a Franco-Scottish rock'n'roll group formed in Paris just before Covid, when Nick Jones, former drummer of The Jim Jones Revue, and bassist Lucas Itié met the duo composed of singer John Jacquin and guitarist Nicolas Stanzick. After a few memorable first rehearsals of electric sonic fury, then a prolonged musical coma due to the pandemic, the group really took off in 2022. “Back from the dead!”, would certainly have commented Peter Cushing, the cult English actor to whom their name refers. Since then, the group has developed their songwriting with biting irony, power, falsely classical but, resolutely offbeat – their debut album is currently in production. The Cushings are a fusion of the voodoo vibrations of London in 1969 with the chilling glam of Berlin in 1977 via a detour to the planet Mars.
