An underground power pop act.
Brainchild of brothers James and Tom Wing, The Roves are a guitar fuelled rock band, hailing from North London. Built on jangling guitars, sharp melodies and bittersweet lyrics - The Roves music has all the characteristics of classic British songwriting and demands to be played loud. The Roves blend nostalgia and urgency in equal measure, with echoes of alt and jangle rock - effortlessly achieving a timeless sound, aided by the brothers melting harmonies. With multiple studio albums under their belts they have found firm footing in Londons underground music scene, as well as establishing themselves across Europe - the most recent EU tour this summer culminating at Paris’s notorious La Fête de la Musique. The Roves have received praise of the highest indie order from the likes of Bobby Gillespie, Alan McGee, Gerry Love and Iggy Pop. With a quietly discerning attitude and booming vocal performances, The Roves are made to last.
