An underground uk funky artist.
Untold is the recording project of London producer Jack Dunning. Emerging in 2008 with releases for Hessle Audio and his own Hemlock Recordings, he quickly became known for music that resisted straightforward classification: stark, physical club tracks shaped by dubstep, techno, UK rave and experimental sound design. Across releases for Hemlock, Hotflush, R&S, Soul Jazz, Clone and 50 Weapons, Untold developed a sound built from fractured rhythms, heavy low frequencies and unusual, often heavily processed textures. His 2009 EP Gonna Work Out Fine established him as one of the most distinctive producers to emerge from the post-dubstep period, while the Change in a Dynamic Environment series marked a decisive move towards tougher, more industrial forms of techno. His debut album, Black Light Spiral, arrived on Hemlock in 2014. Rather than following a conventional dance-floor format, the record explored decayed rhythms, abrasive electronics, negative space and the lingering influence of British rave culture. Alongside his own work, Dunning co-founded Hemlock Recordings, a label closely associated with adventurous UK electronic music and early releases from artists including James Blake. Untold’s catalogue continues to move between club functionality and abstraction, united by a restless approach to rhythm, texture and bass.
Untold plays cutting-edge electronic music blending UK bass, dubstep, and fractured techno rhythms, heavily associated with Hemlock Recordings.
