AMPHITRIO is an award winning contemporary jazz project based in Bucharest, Romania, initiated in 2023, featuring pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex and percussionist Philip Goron, all of them having a solid background in classical and alternative genres. Their music moves between modern jazz, Nordic lyricism, and Balkan intensity, with flavours from heavy metal and electro-groove. Built around original compositions and a highly expressive group sound, the trio has performed internationally across Europe and the United States, establishing itself as one of the standout acts of the new Romanian jazz generation. Their latest album, Timelines, was named Album of the Year by Romanian Cultural Radio.
