An underground electronic artist.
Berlin-based producer and songwriter Zylva returns with 'Bare', a collection of stripped-down reinterpretations of songs from her past releases, 2023's debut LP 'Poems From the Dark' and the follow-up EP 'Antiroom'. The recordings were made over the course of two years in collaboration with longtime friend Pia Allgaier, a process the Berlin-based producer describes as "intimate and characterized by depth and mutual understanding". While her previous releases sat squarely in the Electro/Avant Pop realm, Zylva chose a different approach for 'Bare': "Apart from a few vocal samples, only acoustic instruments and vocals were used, which were recorded live and can be heard virtually unprocessed on the record. I wanted to reduce the songs to their core message and, based on that, only add what would give the songs more plasticity and beauty without getting lost in superfluous details." The results are far from the strum-heavy campfire cover versions one might expect, but feature delicate string and vocal arrangements, making these 7 tracks beautiful pieces of music in their own right. 2026 Zylva is touring with her band, an eclectic live situation with drummer Angela Requena Fuentes and guitarist Arne Braun. The band creates a remarkable live sound with the combination of Zylva's dark voice, an 8-string guitar, rock and metal elements, as well as references to pop music and experimental electronics.
