A nostalgic, underground baroque night.
Arcangelo and an exceptional ensemble of singers embark on An English Baroque Journey, exploring the musical landscape of England's Chapel Royal during the Restoration era. The program features emotionally resonant anthems by Pelham Humfrey, Maurice Greene, and Matthew Locke, composers who flourished under the patronage of Charles II. The performance concludes with Handel's majestic setting of the Psalms. This concert is respectfully dedicated to the memory of Greta Hemus.
