Teus Nobel 4 – Child’s Play
Teus Nobel behoort tot de kopstukken van de Nederlandse jazz. Met Child’s Play presenteert hij zijn elfde album, en zijn meest persoonlijke tot nu toe. Voor dit project formeerde hij een heuse all-star band, met gitarist Teis Semey, bassist Jasper Høiby en drummer Niek de Bruijn. De muziek ontstond in een periode waarin zijn gezin werd geconfronteerd met ernstige ziekte. Terwijl thuis veerkracht en pragmatisme werden gevraagd, vond Nobel zijn inspiratie in het spel van zijn kinderen: vrij, onvoorspelbaar en vol verbeelding. Die energie klinkt door in de composities, waarin ruimte is voor spontaniteit en gecontroleerde chaos.
