Muslim Shaggan
An open-air, slow-burn ghazal night.
As part of the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival, Muslim Shaggan performs a selection of classical Hindustani music. Based in Lahore, Shaggan is a descendant of the Rababi musical tradition and was trained by his grandfather, the renowned singer Ustad Ghulam Hassan Shaggan. His performance carries a centuries-old vocal heritage, blending technical mastery with emotional tenderness. Shaggan's repertoire spans khayal, ghazal, thumri, and kafi, as well as contemporary forms. His debut album 'Asar' features intimate recordings that highlight his subtle virtuosity and deep emotional expression. DURCHLÜFTEN transforms the Schlüterhof of the Humboldt Forum into an open-air venue for global music and cultural exchange, featuring live acts and DJs over four summer weekends.
