Presented as part of the LA Phil Rituals festival and curated by Creative Director Esa-Pekka Salonen, this program explores Igor Stravinsky’s iconic The Rite of Spring. Originally conceived as a pagan ritual, the work's ferocious harmonies and pounding rhythms helped define the modern musical era. The program also features Prokofiev’s First Violin Concerto, performed by three-time Grammy winner Hilary Hahn. Known for her technical mastery, Hahn performs this angular and beautiful concerto as a compelling vehicle for her musical talents.
