Abi Budgen

Abi Budgen is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and poet whose work explores the depth of the human experience. Her innovative musical style is rooted in a lifelong study of traditional blues and gospel music, subjects for which she is an internationally respected teacher. A prominent figure in the Birmingham poetry scene, her writing has been featured in the Verve Poetry Press anthology 'Eighty Four'. She has also collaborated with the Birmingham group The Destroyers, performing her poem 'The Wave' live and on their album 'Argonaut'. She is frequently accompanied by her long-term collaborator, percussionist Dan Wilkins.
