Trees with London Symphony Orchestra
A slow-burn, underground classical night.
Oscar-nominated filmmaker Sam Green unites with Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Caroline Shaw and award-winning author Rebecca Solnit in a live orchestral film experience. Presented as part of our Caroline Shaw residency, Trees receives its world premiere with an original score composed by Shaw. Sam Green is known for his uniquely conceived ‘live documentaries’, where his films are screened on stage as he narrates in person while musicians perform the score. Trees is a profoundly moving study of humankind’s relationship with our earthly cohabitants – the silent witnesses to humanity across countless generations. Featuring narration and stories from around the world, this project marks Green’s most ambitious film yet.
