In 2026, Jupiter celebrates John Dowland on the 400th anniversary of his death. The ensemble honors the composer and lutenist with a major programme featuring excerpts from his songbooks and Lachrimae, highlighting music that ranges from joyful and playful to introspective and meditative. This performance, featuring four singers and five gambists alongside Thomas Dunford, explores the popular dimension of Dowland’s work, whom Dunford describes as the 'John Lennon of the 16th Century.'
