Formed in 1978 in Manchester, A Certain Ratio are celebrated as the godfathers of Punk-Funk. As one of the first acts on the legendary Factory Records label, they pioneered the integration of avant-garde funk, jazz, and electronics into a post-punk framework. Their innovative use of tape loops and technology has influenced a generation of artists, ranging from Talking Heads to LCD Soundsystem.
