Edward Elgar: The Devil Is An Ass (The Spanish Lady)
A nostalgic, underground opera night.
The inexperienced devil Pug asks Satan to let him spread evil among humankind, only to find that people need no guidance in wickedness. Staged by ensemble Privatoper Berlin, this production presents Edward Elgar's only opera, completed through reconstruction by P. Young as The Spanish Lady and performed outside England for the first time.
